For the player looking for the classic style and sound of resonators from the 1930s. The Legacy R-model has a traditional body shape and open or soundwell construction. Perfect for traditional playing, the Legacy R-model’s smaller body produces a clear sustained high range balanced with a punchy growling bass end.
The Legacy R-Model squareneck is a small body mahogany guitar with curly maple binding and is available with a traditional soundwell or open body construction. It comes standard in a tobacco sunburst.
Made of solid mahogany, it has an ebony fretboard, slotted diamond inlays, and an ebony peghead veneer.
In addition to an Original #14 spider™ and Beard Legend Cone™, the Legacy R-Model comes standard with a Beard chrome tailpiece, screens/rings, and fan coverplate. All Beards come standard with Gotoh tuners.
The Legacy R-Model squareneck starts at $4,500 and comes standard with a deluxe hardshell case and a Fishman Nashville pickup. Pricing changes with customization.
RoundNeck
The Legacy R roundneck offers a modern design and sound on a traditional resonator guitar. The combination of a spider cone and solid wood generates a powerful, smooth sound that is perfect for a slide, fingerstyle blues, or driving rhythm. The Legacy R offers a different full-bodied sound than the traditional Tri-cone or Biscuit guitar.

Legacy R Customizations
The Legacy R-Model tonewood, fretboard, inlay, and binding can be customized depending on availability.
Available in high gloss or satin finish. Several color options are offered.
The Hipshot DoubleShot package is a tailpiece, locking tuners, and roller nut combination that allows the user to switch between two different tunings. It is offered as a customization on squarenecks.
The Legacy R-Model can get a Fishman Nashville bridge pickup designed by Jerry Douglas, Larry Fishman, and Paul Beard. Each bridge pickup comes with a #14 adjustable spider.
